Back Sliding

*sigh* I have had a horrible 2 days. I got sick with the flu and somehow made it an excuse not to watch what I eat and not to stay on top of my water intake. I fear getting on the scale Saturday. I overate so much the last 2 days. I am very frustrated. I don't understand why I did it. I guess I was feeling sick and wanted comfort. My whole family is sick now and Christmas is being called off. It's Christmas eve and I am all alone. I am really hurting. I keep asking myself how I got here. 31 years old. No kids, no husband, and no job. I am tired of feeling this way! I want to live a normal life. I never go anywhere these days because it takes so much effort to move around. I want to much to make a change. I want to finish school. I want to lose this weight. I want to find a good job. I want to stop stuffing my face with food.

  1. If you can make it through the holidays, the new year will bring new hope. Just choose you and your health. That is something you have some control over (when you get over the flu). Feel better.

  2. Oh, honey, I am sorry you are feeling this way. Christmas can send many people into a depression that's hard to get out of. It does me sometime. I wish there was something I could do for you. All I can say, I care. You are the captain of your own ship, take control of the ship, you will be sailing soon! God Bless.

    Merry Christmas.

  3. Okay, so you messed up. Guess what? Tomorrow is a new day. Well tomorrow is Christmas so not a great time to be touting tomorrow as the cure all for past mistakes. But the day after tomorrow is a brand new day, Thanksgiving and Christmas are past and you can start all over again. Perfection is not attainable. Forget that. If it were I would be the master of it because I am all about being perfect and right. Ask anyone at work and they will tell you I LOVE being right.

Forget yesterday, today and even tomorrow. Don't worry about it at all. You aren't going to lose the weight in the past week or even tomorrow. But the day after tomorrow, it is to time! Get back in the saddle and do all that you can do in that day to stick to your plan, drink your water and maybe take the trash out without your car again. You CAN do this! If I can do this, you can do this.

  4. Hey. LEARNING TO BE LESS! I can't comment on your post for some reason. It won't connect me to the comment option when I click on POST COMMENT!

Sorry to use you as a sounding board Neelith. I just saw her comment and hope she will pop back in and see it. Everyone needs new friends!

  5. You started this blog for a reason & if you keep at it, you'll get there, believe me. I started mine back in late January & stumbled & bumbled my way through the year. I didn't really commit myself seriously to it until October! Don't expect perfection from yourself...none of us are that!
We ALL stuff our faces for "no reason" even when we're trying very hard to lose. Make better decisions the majority of the time & it'll all work in your favour! Let go of perfection...it'll kill an honest effort.
Don't judge your lifestyle against others'...there's no perfect age to do the husband & kid thing. When you're REALLY ready, it'll come to pass.
I hope you feel better soon! Feed your body & mind well...you deserve it!
    Merry Christmas!

  6. Mega Hugs to you. Christmas time (and all holidays it seems) comes with so many expectations that any time we feel less than perky, happy, or filled with extreme bliss we begin to wonder what's wrong with us when nothing is!! I know how hard it is when you get slapped in the face with the things that make us unhappy this time of year but you have to know that it's only temporary. I know that can be hard to believe but you have to trust!

When things feel so out of control turn back to what you can control and what makes you feel good about yourself. Forgive yourself for any misdeeds in the same way you'd forgive your best friend--you'd never beat them up the way you beat up yourself (speaking from experience here!). Forgive yourself. Focus on what you can change and make little steps towards changing them.

Christmas time is the time for miracles and you never know when one is getting ready to settle upon you!

You have a great group of followers ready to support you every step of the way!

  8. ((((HUGS)))) heading your way. You really aren't as alone as it may seem. It would be wonderful to fix everything at once but you are starting at such a great place. Take care of you and just imagine how wonderful you will feel next Christmas, how proud you will be of yourself and your accomplishments!

A couple of bad days happen to everyone. The difference that YOU will make is that you will choose to not let that turn into a couple of bad weeks and then a couple of bad months. Just one day at a time, not worrying about the day before. You don't have to "make up" for anything, just keep going from where you are right now.

    Merry Christmas!
