The first day

I woke up this morning and decided to make a commitment to myself. Most of my life I have looked to others for love. Today I will start loving myself by taking care of me. The biggest problem in my life has always been my weight. I believe that is the best place to start becoming a healthier me. My weight today is 375 lbs. I know if I am to be successful in losing weight I need to start with small goals. I have know that I don't drink enough water and that sometimes I eat because I am thirsty. I don't realize it until I have overeaten. So my goal this week is to drink water first if I feel hungry. I want to drink at least 64 oz a day. That will be my only goal for the week. I will not worry about changing anything else about my diet for this week.

  1. Hi. Welcome to the diet blog world. I think you are smart to concentrate on one thing. It is a tactic I used until I was able to move into an active diet/exercise plan. By doing one thing and succeeding it will give you confidence to move on and do more.

I started at 370 and know how scary it is to know you want to lose 200 pounds. My advice? Don't think about the 200 pounds. Think about today alone. You can do today.

  2. I agree with you and Kimberly. I think we get so obsessed about losing all the weight at once, it's overwhelming. Once you're used to drinking the water - add something else. I'll be visiting to see your progress. :-)

  3. Hi there!! I am in the 'started at 370' club too :) I am down 50 lbs now though .. woo hoo!! WE CAN AND WILL DO IT!! I have been doing the 10% goal at a time game. It seems to work for me. I would pick smaller amounts and work from there. We're in this together! I'm adding your blog and will check up on you. Do the same to me :) Welcome!

  4. There are a lot of us out there who started above 350 and have made progress. I hope you can work on things slow and steady (frantic and fast don't seem to work.

I will keep up with your progress and cheer you on!

  6. You are smart to have small goals. When I look at my big picture (no pun intended) I get discouraged. Start with water, that is a great one. I always go from one zero to the next. Once I pass that "zero" I focus on the next one. It helped me anyway!!

Good luck on your new journey!!
