walking grrrrr

It's a beautiful day today and I know that I need to go for a walk. I understand the benefits for my physical and mental health. But it is already 2:30 and I have yet to take my walk. The first step always seems to be the hardest. However I know that I can do it. I am just wasting time thinking about it. Instead of spending my whole day worrying over it I am going to take my 15 minute walk even though I don't really want too. Then I can come back and enjoy the rest of my day and feel good about what I have done. I want to add that all of your blogs really help and made a huge difference in my day today. Your blogs honestly were the reminder I needed to persevere. so off I go now to take my walk. Oh, one more thing. I did drink 64 oz yesterday!

  1. Just like in your title, One Day At A Time; however, its also one step at a time! Keep it up! You are headed in the right direction!

  2. You can do it. I really didn't want to do it either when I first started out. It was hard. The best advice I can give you on this is to fake it until you make it. Let your brain take over and be in charge for a while until your heart catches up. You know you have to do it because it is the smart thing to do. Eventually you will want to do it because it makes you feel good. I promise.

  4. I agree with Kimberly, sometimes you just have to actually 'do' before the motivation kicks in. When you walk try to feel empowered by the fact that you are not on the couch, even for those 15 minutes. Congrats on drinking your water!

  5. I also have issues getting the motivation to do stuff. Especially exercise... sometimes I just switch off my brain and go through the motions of getting ready for whatever and by the time I am out the door and on my way it is too late to stop... I also make deals with myself like: "All I have to do is drive to the gym. If I get to the gym and decide I don't want to go then thats fine." I never don't go in after I get there but I always give myself the option. It seems that if I have the option not to do something then I will get myself in a position that I will do it anyway.

Just a thought. You did great with the water!

  6. You can do it! Everytime you stick to what you're plan is you give yourself more and more power and it makes it easier the next time. Be powerful. You have more power than you ever imagined!

  10. Isn't it amazing how mental this physical journey is?? Good for you for getting out there and getting it done! It's a great reminder for me when I'm the one not having any desire to get it done myself!!!
